Finance and Procurement Manager
Location: Houghton Le Spring
Salary: up to £36,000
Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week
We’re seeking an experienced Finance and Procurement Manager to play a key role in managing the financial health and procurement operations of a leading manufacturing business.
This position would suit a detail-oriented professional who enjoys combining strategic financial oversight with hands-on procurement management. You’ll work closely with the leadership team to ensure the business remains financially robust, cost-effective, and compliant with all relevant regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all daily financial operations including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans to support business objectives.
- Manage supplier contracts, negotiations, and relationships to ensure cost efficiency and quality.
- Implement and monitor procurement strategies aligned to company goals.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and legal requirements.
- Support audits and liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
- Collaborate across departments to align financial and purchasing strategies.
About You
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Finance and Procurement, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and procurement regulations (UK and international).
- Proficiency with MRP or financial management systems.
- Professional qualifications such as AAT or CIPS are preferred.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship management skills.
- Strong leadership and analytical abilities, with a proactive approach to problem solving.
