Overview
Are you an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity? This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in the early stages of their QS career to gain valuable experience and develop professionally within a well-established consultancy environment.
You will be part of a team who high-quality services in cost consultancy, project management, and strategic advisory across a wide range of sectors including housing, healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in cost planning and budget preparation
- Support the preparation of tender documentation and procurement advice
- Carry out measurements and assist with valuations and variations
- Provide support with contract administration under various forms (NEC/JCT)
- Support cost reporting and financial control throughout the project lifecycle
- Attend client and site meetings
- Assist with final account preparation and project close-out
Requirements
Essential:
- Degree (or working towards) in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
- Strong analytical and numerical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Self-motivated and willing to learn
Desirable:
- Previous experience (placement or post-graduate) in a consultancy or contractor setting
- Familiarity with NEC and/or JCT contracts
- Progress towards professional accreditation (e.g., RICS/APC)
