An experienced Senior Buyer is wanted to join a growing company in North Tyneside.

Working in a ’hands-on’ role as part of a small team, you’ll be taking a key role in developing and implementing purchasing strategy for the business.

 

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Proven experience in a similar role – preferably within manufacturing/distribution
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • An analytical mindset
  • A good knowledge of sustainable sourcing policies
  • A hands-on, problem-solving approach
  • CIPS qualification is preferred
  • The job will include management of international suppliers, so some travel may be involved occasionally

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing procurement strategies that follow the business’
  • Building strong relationships with suppliers to ensure best pricing & service levels
  • Negotiating supplier contracts
  • Implementing cost-saving opportunities
  • Collaborating with Operations and Planning to ensure optimal levels of material and stock
  • Adhering to the company’s ethical sourcing & environmental policies
