An experienced Senior Buyer is wanted to join a growing company in North Tyneside.
Working in a ’hands-on’ role as part of a small team, you’ll be taking a key role in developing and implementing purchasing strategy for the business.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- Proven experience in a similar role – preferably within manufacturing/distribution
- Strong negotiation skills
- An analytical mindset
- A good knowledge of sustainable sourcing policies
- A hands-on, problem-solving approach
- CIPS qualification is preferred
- The job will include management of international suppliers, so some travel may be involved occasionally
What You’ll Be Doing
- Developing procurement strategies that follow the business’
- Building strong relationships with suppliers to ensure best pricing & service levels
- Negotiating supplier contracts
- Implementing cost-saving opportunities
- Collaborating with Operations and Planning to ensure optimal levels of material and stock
- Adhering to the company’s ethical sourcing & environmental policies
