Pin Point Recruitment is looking for a Purchasing Assistant to work within a manufacturing company based in Bedford.

 

The company have been manufacturing in the UK since 1980, across six manufacturing sites where they create mechanical, electrical, electronic and digital solutions that improve lives by transforming the spaces where people live, work and meet.

 

As the Purchasing Assistant you will be supporting the purchasing department in all procurement activities, ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services while maintaining accurate records. This role involves liaising with suppliers, processing purchase orders, and managing inventory levels.

 

Purchasing Assistant Job Role:

Key Responsibilities:

Purchase Order Processing

  • Prepare and process purchase orders.

  • Verify purchase requisitions and issue orders to suppliers.

 Supplier Coordination

  • Communicate with suppliers to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.

  • Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and negotiate terms as needed.

Inventory Management

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse and other departments to ensure adequate stock levels.

  • Assist in inventory audits and reconciliation processes.

 Administrative Support:

  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and price lists.

  • Assist in the preparation of bid requests and procurement documentation.

Compliance and Reporting:

    • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.

    • Generate and distribute regular reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance.

    • Keep in line the departments kpi’s .

    • update head office supplier value management “SVM” system.

 

Skills Required:

  • Proven experience in a Purchasing Administrator position

  • Be analytical and numerically astute with strong proven problem-solving skills.

  • Be driven with the ability to plan and deliver to meet project deadlines.

  • Have experience of working in a busy environment with proven ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.

  • Have good interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining working relationships.

  • Be able to analyse complex situations and give balanced well considered decisions.

  • Have good IT skills and be familiar with MS Office packages
