Financial Administrator – Manufacturing

A well-established manufacturing business is seeking a Financial Administrator to support financial operations. This role supports financial efficiency, compliance, and accuracy across multiple business units within a manufacturing environment. It is particularly suited for someone who has filled a similar role in an SME company who has taken on a variety of financial responsibilities and stepped up to support management accounts in their career history.
Qualifications & Experience:

AAT qualified (minimum) or equivalent experience.

Extensive experience in financial administration within a manufacturing environment.

Strong background in supporting management accounting, including year-end procedures.

Experience in credit control, ensuring timely payments and managing outstanding balances.

Proficient in Xero accounting software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel essential).

Experience in payroll administration and external payroll provider coordination.

Knowledge of HMRC compliance, including VAT returns, Intrastat, CIS, and tax digitalisation.

Familiarity with banking software and cashflow forecasting.

Ability to streamline finance systems and processes to improve efficiency.
Key Responsibilities to support administration of the following:

Financial administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Preparation of management accounts, including journal entries for:

Generating trial balance reports and finalising monthly accounts.

Daily cashflow forecasting and monitoring of financial health.

Sales and order reporting to track business performance.

Credit control, managing customer accounts, chasing overdue payments, and reducing debtor days.

Payroll processing oversight, including submission of pension returns and tax payments.

Preparation and submission of HMRC data, ensuring compliance with VAT exemptions, digital tax requirements, and other statutory returns.

Invoice generation and reconciliation, aligning with the MRP system.

Continuous improvement of financial processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
