Electrical Crane Field Service Engineer

Location: Teeside or Tyne and Wear 

Salary: base up to £48,000pa with an OTE of up to £65,000pa

Contract: Permanent

Summary:

We are seeking skilled Electrical Crane Field Service Engineers and will be responsible for the electrical, maintenance, repair, and servicing of crane systems and associated equipment in various site settings. The position requires travel to client sites to ensure the safe and efficient operation of cranes and related industrial machinery. You can expect to travel to sites across the Teesside or Tyne and Wear areas (multiple roles available) and can expect training, development and a long-term career.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical crane operations.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems, control panels, and other associated equipment.

Field Service Tasks:

  • Provide on-site support to customers, including emergency repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and ensure customer satisfaction.

Technical Support:

  • Offering technical assistance and guidance to customers and other technicians as needed.
  • Prepare detailed reports on service activities, including findings and recommendations.

Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations in all tasks and operations.
  • Educate clients on proper usage and safety of crane operations.

Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, including service reports, parts used, and time taken.
  • Update and maintain technical documentation, manuals, and schematics.

Qualifications:

  • Technical electrical qualification or electrically biased background and training
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Electrical License) are beneficial.
  • LEEA qualifications would be an advantage

Experience:

  • Experience in electrical plant maintenance, preferably with crane systems and equipment.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems and general electrical troubleshooting (drives/inverters etc).
  • Exposure to hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical systems
  • Welding experience advantageous
  • Used to working at height and additional relevant certification.
  • Full UK driving licence

Salary and Benefits:

  • Base salary to £48,000 depending on experience
  • OTE to £65,00 with on call and overtime opportunities
