Commercial Engineer
- Full-time, permanent staff position
- Sunderland; potential for hybrid working (after probation)
- Up to £45k depending on experience
An experienced Commercial Engineer is required to join one of the North east’s leading automotive manufacturing companies.
You’ll primarily be tasked with develop customer relationships and ensuring an accurate, profitable pricing process.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
- A background in commercial engineering / costing / estimating within a manufacturing / FMCG / automotive industry
- Strong commercial negotiation skills
- Any exposure to the automotive manufacturing industry is a big plus
- Technical know-how; ability to understand materials, processes, measurements etc
- Good project management and strategic planning abilities
What You’ll Be Doing
- Working as part of an experienced key team within the business, reporting into the Commercial Manager
- Creating accurate, profitable quotations based on production & delivery capabilities
- Operating costing systems and controls
- Constantly reviewing existing commercial costings & contract performance to ensure accuracy and profitability
- You’ll become a key figure for market knowledge as you monitor industry trends and innovative commercial strategies
