Brake Press Detailer/Programmer

Pin Point Recruitment is looking for a Brake Press Detailer/Programmer for manufacturing company based in West Thurrock.

As the Brake Press Detailer/ Programmer, you will be responsible for all pre-production activities, you will assist with the quoting process and ensure jobs are detailed and sent to the shop floor for maximum efficiency while maintaining delivery and quality commitments.

Job Role:

•             Proactively engage and build relationships with designers, to acquire necessary information to assist the quoting process and produce detailed information for the job.

•             Ensure that all the drawings for the enquired schedule are received. Annotating drawings with information to support production.

•             Ensure that the parts ordered can be produced with machines (knowledge of machines capability), tools and procedures in the factory.

•             Creating cutting programs and/or guidelines for required machines.

•             Iterating materials, consumables and tools required for the job.

•             Write clear instructions for the supervisor, outlining production process for each job.

•             Creating parts and filling quotes within the quoting system.

•             Analysing prices from the system to ensure competitiveness and reporting to management when a review is needed

•             Compile all the information necessary for production

•             Ensure production targets are achieved “On Time in Full” and continuously demonstrate a “Zero defect” mentality

•             Enthusiastically engage in the development and implementation of improved pre-production working methods, processes, and data transfer systems.

•             Visibly employ a Plan-do-check-act philosophy and support team members in collecting and sharing data to enable learning and focused management reporting.

•             Liaise with site teams to understand issues that have arisen and how in future the delivered product could be improved to help site install, cost or production efficiency

Skills Required:

•             Experience of working in a similar position in an office environment.

•             Expert knowledge of office package (excel), CAD programs, and Radan

•             Experience of working within the construction industry. – desirable

•             Programmer level knowledge of excel. – desirable

•             Basic knowledge of programming and programming languages, SQL, Java, Python …etc. – desirable

•             Basic knowledge of the operation and capabilities of the machinery in use at the factory.

•             Advanced ability to read and interpret drawings and processes for making the press-fit product.

•             Competency in MS Excel to the level of producing spreadsheets, charts etc.

•             Knowledge and experience of using other MS Office applications including PowerPoint and internet applications.
